Kirk Reynolds KC

Kirk Reynolds KC

Following his retirement from active practice at the Bar in 2026, Kirk Reynolds KC FCIArb accepted Falcon Chambers' invitation to become an Academic Bencher.

Although Kirk enjoyed a busy practice as an advocate at the Bar, and was in high demand as an arbitrator and independent expert, his forte lay in lecturing and in writing. Kirk was in very high demand by Henry Stewart and the other professional conferencing organisations, because the feedback about him was always excellent. His avuncular manner belied a razor-sharp mind which ruthlessly distilled and analysed the issue in hand. He had a way of formulating the succinct phrase that would capture the essence of the answer to a problem. His Blundell Lectures were celebrated.

This same flair for analysis also characterised Kirk’s authorial skills. His three great publishing achievements – the Handbook of Rent Review, Renewal of Business Tenancies, and Dilapidations – brought clarity and structure to the complicated areas with which they deal, and each has been in print for over 30 years, with readerships that make other textbook writers blanch.

Kirk was granted an honorary doctorate by the University of Bedfordshire, and was delighted to be awarded the accolades of HonRICS and HonARBRIX, reflecting his many years of gratis service to the chartered surveying profession.
