Mentoring
Falcon Chambers are pleased to announce that we have joined a mentoring scheme aimed at groups underrepresented at the Bar, together with five other planning, property, and public law sets (Landmark Chambers, Cornerstone Barristers, Field Court Chambers, Francis Taylor Building, and Kings Chambers). The scheme is now in its a second year and is supported by the Planning and Environment Bar Association. It is intended to encourage undergraduates and postgraduates from groups that are not well represented at the Bar to consider becoming barristers. These underrepresented groups include women, people from minority ethnic backgrounds and people from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds.
The Bar should be open to all who have the requisite ability, and we hope that the mentoring scheme will continue to help talented individuals who might not think the Bar is for them to understand what the Bar has to offer and how to become a barrister, and to assist in the application process.
The scheme will run from October 2022 to June 2023. Successful applicants will be offered one-to-one meetings with a mentor, a workshop on applications for pupillage and (subject to COVID-19 restrictions) one or more social events with mentors and other mentees.
How to apply:
First, read the guidelines for applicants. Then download and complete the application form by midday on 7 October 2022. Successful applicants will be notified by e-mail by 28 October 2022.
