Stephen has a wide-ranging practice covering all aspects of property litigation, including insolvency, professional negligence and partnership disputes. He has considerable experience of leading in heavy cases turning on valuation issues or difficult questions of law. He has appeared 8 times in the Supreme Court/House of Lords/Privy Council, on appeals raising issues including human rights, restrictive covenants, service charges, the Landlord and Tenant Act 1995, enfranchisement, adverse possession, unregistered title and fixtures. He has appeared numerous times in the Court of Appeal.
