Enforcing covenants: a guide to enforcement of freehold and leasehold covenants, including the impact of Landlord and Tenant (Covenants) Act 1995

All property lawyers need to wrestle with how to enforce covenants from time to time.  For many of us, however, it is a long time since we paused and thought about the principles and law which underpin the way covenants benefit and burden land, and how statutes such as the Landlord and Tenant (Covenants) Act 1995 and the Law of Property Act 1925 interfere with what title documents might say. This session, which is the first in our latest Property Pointers series and presented by Michael Ranson and Gwyneth Everson, is aimed at giving attendees a firm grasp of the fundamental points relevant to advising on freehold and leasehold covenants.
