Falcon Chambers Junior Property Pointers Series

We are pleased to announce that our Junior Zoominar Series - 'Property Pointers' will be back in the Autumn 2022. We will be offering a series of interactive zoominars on various aspects of property law. These will be presented by junior counsel and aimed particularly at solicitors up to 5 years’ pqe, they would also be useful to surveyors and other professionals working in the property industry. 

The zoominars will have a strong emphasis on participation and exchange of views between the professionals attending. They will commence with a talk from a member of Chambers on the relevant area of the law, focusing in particular on recent case law. Led by another member of Chambers, the participants will then consider the legal, procedural and commercial aspects of the topic.

Each seminar will start at 5.00pm and will last for 45 minutes. Full notes will be supplied and the seminars each carry a 1CPD rating. Please be aware that notes will only be provided to those who attend the seminar.

The second zoominar will take place on Wednesday 23 November and will be hosted by Kavish Shah and Taylor Briggs 

A mortgagee’s remedies in the event of a mortgagor’s insolvency

Kavish Shah and Taylor Briggs will give an overview of the consequences of a borrower’s insolvency under the various insolvency regimes - namely, bankruptcy, liquidation, and administration - on the remedies available to a lender. They will cover vesting orders, moratoriums, permissions from the court, and whether consequences depend on the mortgage being legal or equitable.
