Two Members of Falcon Chambers to be Appointed Queen’s Counsel

Falcon Chambers are delighted to announce that Gary Cowen and Adam Rosenthal are to be appointed Queens Counsel at a ceremony on Monday 16th March 2020. 

Gary was called to the Bar in 1990, after completing an LLB at Bristol University.

Gary is an experienced advocate at appellate and first instance levels in all aspects of real property law with particular emphasis on complex issues arising from commercial development, especially adverse possession, restrictive covenants and easements. Gary also specialises in complex mortgage disputes, leasehold enfranchisement and commonhold work. Most recently, he has appeared in two high-profile restrictive covenant cases concerning property at Falmouth Docks and in Berkeley Square. 

He was a Contributing Editor of the Property section of Bullen & Leake & Jacob Precedents of Pleadings (14th edition), and the co-author of Commonhold, Law and Practice. He has for several years been ranked as a leading junior in property litigation by all major directories. 

In addition, he sits as a part time judge of the First Tier Tribunal (Land Registration), and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Adam was called to the Bar in 1999, after obtaining a first class degree at St Catherine’s College, Oxford and he has been a tenant of Falcon Chambers since completing his pupillage.

Adam is an experienced property litigator whose practice encompasses all aspects of real property and landlord and tenant-related litigation and advice. He is a persuasive advocate with considerable courtroom experience at all levels, including the High Court and the Court of Appeal and also appears in the First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) (Land Registration and Property Divisions) and the Upper Tribunal. He also has considerable experience of arbitration.

He is currently on the “A” Panel of Junior Counsel to the Crown.

Adam is a co-author of Commercial and Residential Service Charges, Barnsley’s Land Options and a contributor to  Fisher & Lightwood’s Law of Mortgage and Woodfall’s Landlord and Tenant Bulletin.

For several years, he has been ranked as a leading junior in property litigation by all major directories.
